As part of our consultancy with Decca Records, we were asked to find a remix for Jacob Collier’s beautiful track ‘Never Gonna Be Alone’, written and recorded with Lizzy McAlpine and John Mayer. It was immediate when we heard the record that it needed a rework that would respect the musicality and deliver a quality that not only the label, but Jacob would be proud of.
After some careful thought, we pitched the incredible HONNE, a duo who blew us away with their rework of Nina Simone’s track ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ that we commissioned this time last year. They crafted an up-beat rework of the original with all the feeling that Jacob originally captured and even had new parts from Collier to use in the remix – and what a remix it is! So far it has amassed over 1.5 million streams in little over a month since its release.
